Nannies Trained to Care for Children with Special Needs
Professional, college-educated nannies with backgrounds in social work, psychology, child and family development, education, and/or other similar fields. Our nannies are trained to care for and manage children with specific environmental, behavioral or physical needs. Many also have Master's degrees and all have extensive experience working with children who have special needs.
We ensure that the nanny we place with your family has the requisite skill level needed to address your needs. For example, we will match a family who has an autistic child with a nanny who is trained in ABA, and has experience with sensory issues. Also, for children with ADHD, our nannies will be skilled in behavior modification and social skill development. We cater each placement to the specific needs of your family.
Personalized Attention
We take the time to ensure we have thoroughly covered your childcare needs by meeting with your family personally and discussing you specific needs, goals and expectations. We like to spend time with your children ourselves so we can get to know them a little better. We believe there is no better way to successfully match a family with a loving nanny than to know your family well ourselves.
After our initial consultation we identify up to three potential candidates for your family to interview. All of these candidates will undergo extensive background checks, reference checks, and other security measures to ensure your piece of mind. We recommend the nanny spend some time with the children to gauge their level of interaction and to make sure they'll get along well. We also provide your family with potential interview questions and employment resources.
The PFC Difference
Most agencies will complete the matching process over the phone or through email. We find this too impersonal and an ineffective way to create a sustainable and quality match. When we meet with your family for the first time, we want to get to know you, your routines, special parts of your life, and anything that is important to you regarding the care of your children. Our goal is to find the perfect nanny the first time and to develop a relationship with your family that will last a lifetime. Our nannies use the information we gather to implement caring strategies specifically designed to meet the unique needs of your child.
